Q. What is the best number to call to reach the police?
If it is an emergency, please do not hesitate to call 9-1-1. The police are there to help us.
If it is a non-emergency, please call your Police Service Area (PSA). You can get their number through the following website: www.mpd.dc.gov – Fourth District
Q. My trash can is worn out and has a hole in it. How do I get a new one?
You can get a new trash can by contacting 3-1-1 and making a request to DPW for a new one. You may coordinate with them to have the old one hauled away and a new one delivered.

Q. The trees in my neighborhood are obstructing the view and are causing a safety issue. What can be done?
If you are having problems with trees on city property, you can contact 311 and the Department of Transportation (DDOT) will come out, inspect and trim the trees if necessary.

Q. I want to get involved in my neighborhood. Where can I find information about community participation?
If you are interested in getting involved in your neighborhood, you can contact your Advisory Neighborhood Council (ANC) for meetings and events. To find your ANC, go to https://anc.dc.gov/page/ward-4-advisory-neighborhood-commissions.
Q. I have concerns about the condition of my alleys and streets. Who do I contact for repairs?
For questions about alleys and streets, and to inquire about sidewalks, contact DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) at www.ddot.dc.gov, or call 311 to submit a request.
