Councilmember Todd to Chair

D.C. Council Subcommittee on Boards and Commissions


“I’m excited to begin my role, said Councilmember Todd, “these new Subcommittees will provide for a fresh set of perspectives on many important issues. Let’s get to work!”


WASHINGTON, DC – (September 20, 2016) On Tuesday, — following the D.C. Council’s vote to divide the Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs Committee into four Subcommittees — Ward 4 Councilmember Brandon Todd, effective immediately, became the chairman of the newly formed “Subcommittee on Boards and Commissions.” The following agencies come within the purview of Councilmember Todd’s new Subcommittee:

The Board of Accountancy, Board of Architecture and Interior Designs, Board of Barber and Cosmetology, Board of Consumer Claims Arbitration for the District of Columbia, Board of Funeral Directors, Board of Industrial Trades, Board of Professional Engineering, Board of Real Estate Appraisers, Commission on Fashion Arts and Events, District of Columbia Boxing and Wrestling Commission, the Emancipation Commemoration Commission, and the Real Estate Commission.

The members of the Subcommittee will include Councilmembers Allen, Nadeau, Silverman, and White (At-Large).

Councilmember Todd is eager to take on this new responsibility. “I am pleased to receive this Subcommittee assignment, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on the D.C. Council, said Councilmember Todd. “I will work to clear all agenda items before the end of the Council period.”

In addition to this new Committee assignment, Councilmember Todd will remain a member of the Committee on Education and the Committee on Transportation and the Environment.
